This from a very personal outlook today as the warmth and light of spring awaken me with their warmth …

Why am i so very distrustful when those I barely know, speak to me and say things to me about “brotherhood”, “camaraderie”, “shared community”… Both my heart and mind say “Sorry, I have barely met you?… I find myself withdrawing and moving to a place of separation… I can easily find myself… (Yes like Alice) in a place where everything is very unfamiliar.

My imagery and thoughts go to how quickly everything moves in the world that we live in and how very little is left to the nurture and trust that can be built when we take getting to know each other a little slow.

“Many many men don’t feel empowered or have enough
knowledge about their ass . . . it’s nothing that’s taught in
school,” says Phillip Coupal, counsellor, coach and body
worker. Coupal runs a series of workshops for men that
deal with various aspects of sex and sexuality. “In San
Francisco there are ‘sexological body workers’ and there
are ‘sacred intimates’ . . . all these people who will take you
on an erotic voyage. There’s very little of that [in Toronto],”
he says. A recent workshop dealt with genital touch, and
one in December will focus on being multiorgasmic,
but his upcoming workshop plunges into the tight but
receptive void of anal touch. “There is a lot of shame and
mythology about the ass, and this workshop will help
people gain a more conscious knowledge of it,” he says.
Coupal conducts an initial consultation with
prospective attendees, making sure they are suited to
this type of group situation. The workshop itself begins
on Friday, with experimentation and discussion to dispel
performance anxiety; Saturday involves introspective
exercises and conversation; and on Sunday, attendees are
paired off with random partners (this particular workshop
is not for couples) for some caressing, fi ngering and maybe
some play with toys. While Coupal occasionally holds
workshops that involve trans men, this particular event is
only for men who were born with male bodies.
Coupal stresses that while the workshop is very sexual
in nature, it is not a free-for-all sex fest. He says that often
“an orgy’s energy level will go up really high and might not
be as consensual or personal as this workshop will be.”

Starting September 20th with Paul Galloro and Phillip Coupal

The first of the Fall 2012 evening offerings will begin on Thursday September 20th. We will be opening a series of evening sessions that will focus on Breath, Movement and Visualization. Life Force Movement will be offered from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. The offering is 90 minutes of focused and facilitated Breathing, Movement and Visualization. I have teamed up with Paul Galloro to offer this event. The fee for these 90 minutes sessions will be $15.00 each and you can purchase a block of 10 sessions for $120.00. Life Force Creative Source – Wednesday Evenings

Starting September 26th

The second offering will begin Wednesday September 26th. This Awakening of Creative Source session will be an adventure and experiment delving into the artist within. As a group and as individuals we will play with drawing and painting. The evening’s sessions will utilize Breath and Sound to access the source for creating spirited expression through artistic media. Offered on alternating Wednesdays the sessions will run from 6:30 until 9:30. The fee for these 3 hour sessions is $35.00 (materials supplied).
