It is NOT the task of Men
to become more Masculine
or more Godlike
or for Women
to become more Feminine
or find their Goddess Self.
That is the Old Paradigm.
It is for us all
to awaken Both
inside each and everyone of us.
Not as an androgyne…
a weak distillation of both
but as a deeply strong
deeply powerful
and fiercely lovingly
fully integrated whole.
It is the inner marriage
of both
that will raise both poles
to greatness
and as we do
our co-dependant structures
inherited from an outwardly dependent world,
simply fall away.
From deep inner connection
we call to us then
a Oneness of Being
that brings a Bliss
and deep love
leading to such compassion…

10 Years at the Awaken Studio -♥- 15 Years of working with Men and their Lives -♥- A LIFE TIME of dreams.

Excited as I create the spaces and openings for the coming year at the Awaken Studio. 10 years of growth for this sanctuary opening the deepest parts of our shared humanity.

This preparation over the next month begins my moving into the 10th year of offering the work of guiding men into their bodies through a pathway leading to their hearts. Using breath, movement, touch and awareness men can find themselves in peaceful loving places.

-♥-

2016 and 2017 marks the 15th year of working with men, their lives, their hearts and minds and bodies.

In 2001 my work was with the minds of men and focused on emotion.

In 2007 my work shifted to include the physical body.

In 2007 I embarked on a journey that would bring me to the curious, lovely and poignant place I have been able to occupy.

In 2012 a great shift happened as moved into taking much more space.

Today the space of the Awaken Studio has developed into a sanctuary that is able to hold a container welcoming of all men.

I am so blessed by the great fortune that I have had, to be able to open a space and create a physical environment where men can safely occupy their bodies, embrace themselves and others, opening their hearts to their deepest desires and the open their minds to their greatest potential.

Wondering today about heroes and I looked to Eartha Kitt.

Listening to Eartha Kitt I was struck by an act of generosity bestowed upon me by a man who I admire. This man has lived a life that I can not imagine. There was something that brought me to the life of Eartha Kitt. Reading about her life I realized why she was such an icon to Gay Men in the 60’s and 70’s. She was such a rebel and came from such a strange and tormented beginning.

There are so many elements that I can identify with as read the life and history of this beautiful and passionate woman and I mused and was inspired by the generosity of the man who took me to dinner last night.

Heroes – Acceptance – Rebellion -♥- Awaken Studio Toronto

Born in 1927 in a rural and poverty laden environment Kitt must have wondered what it was like to fit in and as well know the absolute and horrid bluntness of being rejected.

The particular element that stood out and had me in tears over my coffee was this quote:

“In a 1992 interview with Dr. Anthony Clare, Kitt spoke about her gay following, saying:

We’re all rejected people, we know what it is to be refused, we know what it is to be oppressed, depressed, and then, accused, and I am very much cognizant of that feeling. Nothing in the world is more painful than rejection. I am a rejected, oppressed person, and so I understand them, as best as I can, even though I am a heterosexual.”

The part of this quote that rang out to me was of course the opening and my total identification with rejection. I do know what it is like to be refused. I also can identify as the man who took me to dinner last night was a man who had been “accused”, accused of a sexuality that was at that time rejected. I could identify and be very empathic as there have been certainly points in my life where I was “accused: for being gay, a homosexual. The part where I identify more though is is the deep and resounding rejection I often feel from the “culture” establishment that surrounds me and the corporate culture that I totally believe robs each individual of their humanity.

All the more reason to simply be me. All the more reason to take a stand and hold forth for what I believe is the calling of humanity.

As I approach the final anniversary in May, I am again reminded of the power that emanates from within.

Last night at dinner, with a wonderful group of men, I was asked about how things in my life, were going. Yes there was the usual surface gratitude. And then, when I checked for a moment, inside, I was overcome with a greater sense of deeper gratitude and power, an internal and much more earthy gratitude. I was aware of a deep and rich sense of gratitude and power that radiated directly from my source.

This reminder brought up a great well of very lovely, juicy and fertile energy. My greater sense reminding me that this richness resides within me and flows from my source. The source of life, the within. This within, the place where I am nothing but myself: a beautiful and meaningful, radiant, blissful being.

I am filled with gratitude and pleasure as I realize that the past year has exercised, strengthened and enlarged this great pool of within and the personal strength that comes from my, within. My life source has been enriched by the experience of being made irrelevant and being cast aside.

The within in me, is the source of all of my life and my energy. A year ago I would have never thought or even imagined that I might have within me the power to move ahead and become more myself than I have ever been.I am so very grateful to have been able to access and utilize and pump out from this well, this source, that accesses the within. The power within me to overcome those that would have me be powerless and without strength or individuality.

Today when I am utilizing this life force, when I am accessing and actively flowing from the source, I am letting myself come out to play and create and bring meaning to my world. I am full of relevance and fortitude and I even have power. I am anything but “IRRELEVANT” I am powerful and full of meaning.

A note to those that might feel bullied, coerced, forced to be something that they are not, shamed and dominated, made to feel powerless. Your LIFE source, the power within you, to be you, is within and is full of the brilliant radiance that is you. When you can let this source energy flow and be in the brilliance of exactly who, you are, you will have full and resolute power.

To those that have been bullied, please never take on the words, coercion, ridicule, shame or domination of those bullies. Please reach inside and bring out your brilliance, especially in the face of those who wish to wield power in a brutal and careless manner. The world can only be a better place if each and every human being, could live from the BRILLIANT RADIANCE that comes from source and resides in each of us, in the within.
