Today I was looking for some information about the emotional roller coaster that I seem to be on.
Looking around for some reading and realizing that there are several contributing factors to the great waves of emotion that I have been feeling in recent days. These feelings seem to be especially centered around home and the nurturing and creative feelings that I have in my home. Realizing that there is an imbalance in my home life versus work life that creates an out of balance signal. The brilliant realization in this desperate reading effort has been that, smiling helps.
Spending more than an hour reading and searching on the internet. I finally found something that was not so dry… Read through it, everything is there and the zinger is in the last sentence!
It is more helpful if we learn and apply these emotional intelligence skills:
I’m a firm believer in the powers of Yoga, having a good work/home/life balance and using humour to deal with some of life’s more difficult moments. I must admit I also like the advice that Elizabeth Taylor once gave: “Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together.”
All of these elements are great and I got the most out of the last sentence and quote… “Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together.” This made me smile again and even the simple act of clipping it and re-pasting it into this entry made me smile again and brought yet another shift…
So today, and just for today, perhaps tomorrow… and likely only internally, I will follow the sage advice of the lovely Diva, Elizabeth Taylor. When I make the effort and when I smile, I will know that the time and effort that it takes to smile can spaciously allow me time to manage, getting all those cognitive functions back in order and begin to get myself in place.
Everything can be going to hell in a hand-basket and I can fall into the safety of knowing that I have complete and utter control over my ability to smile, take a breath and get to knowing that everything will take care of itself.

Always seeking and seeking always…
A little news
I have to say that I never thought that I would find myself running off to do another workshop!
I am very excited to say that I am running off to do another workshop! A great way of CELEBRATING my BODY of EMANCIPATION!
This time in the workshop is taking place in the foothills of the coastal mountains just outside of Vancouver. A place called Loon Lake, not the Loon Lake that is 1/2 way between Cache Creek and Clinton, but the Loon Lake that is near Maple Ridge. The workshop fits perfectly into my schedule on November 8 to 15. I think I will stay the weekend in Vancouver and perhaps fly up to Williams Lake to visit my family. 😉
Funny enough one of the things that sticks in my mind, and totally opens my heart to the work, is that this event is billed as a way to explore boundaries around intimacy and actually uses the word SEX in it’s title! YUM!
I am very excited that this event is in CANADA and is being run in a way that make sense financially. The inclusive nature is welcoming of all participants. The event is open to anyone and the fee is $650.00 for a week including food and accommodation (NOT in a tent!). Also! This was of particular interest to me.
The workshop will be, in large part, driven by the participants. It will follow the long Faerie Circle tradition with each member having equal rights and responsibilities of participation. The facilitators will provide guidelines and a road-map to “sacred space” and a foundation of emotional and spiritual support for the workshop.

Based on the successful and provocative workshops developed by Harry Hay, this 7-day retreat is designed to challenge and take down the fences keeping us from achieving levels of intimacy not previously found.
We face many barriers in working to realize our vision. AIDS, sexual addiction, objectification, ageism, looks-ism, internalized heterosexism, unrealistic expectations. These issues look large as we begin this crucial next step in manifesting our collective faerie vision – the ritual realization of subject-Subject consciousness that is the basis of Radical Faerie reality. We achieve our vision by collectively creating – as the core our Workshop, (and for the duration only) – a Ritual Space within which safe and sacred precinct we freely empower ourselves, and each other, to set aside our boundaries in order to experience the same total loving sharing with another as we do in loving ourselves.

This gathering of men delivers the opportunity to give and receive full bodied touch. The elements of Taoist Erotic Massage and erotic and genital touch as originally taught by Joseph Kramer are incorporated into each exchange.
There is a practice of Breath Work, Body Awareness and Conscious Heartfelt Touch. Each exchange is offered on a weekend afternoon and is held in the comfortable, well equipped and private space provided by the Awaken Studio.
You will be asked to make a personal agreement before you attend this event. This agreement about group behaviour will be outlined in a confirming letter and delivered to all participants.
Spaces are limited this group is limited to 12 participants.
